It's almost a norm that people generally leave for better job opportunities after getting their annual bonus, among the many other reasons. For us, we saw more than our fair share of people leaving within the last couple of weeks.
For starters, my long time friend Mr Nowuram decided to retire and spend more time with family (a noble cause indeed). He's been working for almost 15 years (in this company), though I've barely been here for 8. A small photo gallery of his farewell dinner can be found here.
My friend Hishamuddin too left the company for something better. I know him from the Emergency Response Team, where he has shown time and time again to be a capable and skilled Emergency Responder with admirable leadership skills.
If there was one individual who we could call the life of the party, and the creative inspiration behind many entertaining sketches during our annual dinner, then it is surely Ananthan that comes to mind. A stalwart of the company Recreation Club, he always manages to rally his co-workers into a side-splitting and truely enjoyable show. As I know, he's gone to help run his family business somewhere in Taman Merdeka.
Lily Tang's her name. As you can see, these last three photos are fairly recent from our inter-shift badminton event. Nice girl who always tries her best to help out others in need. I was actually taken by surprise, as I only found out that she'd left the company this year (she sent her farewell e-mail out during the shutdown).
Also new on the list of ex-staff are Johnnie Fam (another veteran who left so swiftly I did not manage to say goodbye to him) and also Yeo Ee Beng (brother of Yeo Ee Kuang, who is still in the company). And those are just the few who I can recall as I'm typing here.
Well, I hope all of you friends have a good life ahead, and may we see each other again soon!

For me...ppl in my company leaving is not because of better job or opportunities...by VSS!!
Sad case....
Well, in times like these, there are those who take the opportunity to retire early (you'll never know when the company will give you a golden handshake again). Then there are those who have decided - enough is enough (can't stand the extensive "cost-saving" efforts over the past few months).
I guess we all have to tighten our belts and weather out the storm. Hope the Lunar New Year of the Ox brings back the fortune and luck to us all! :D
